5S is a method for organizing work place, especially a shared workplace like shop floor, office, hospital, banks etc. and keeping the same organized, throughout. It is considered as a housekeeping methodology, however this is misleading, as 5S goes beyond it.
5S leads to improved processes and ultimately leads to complete transformation of place & people. It is world’s most powerful program and brings in quick results. The simplicity of 5S is liked by everyone which leads to total involvement.
“5S” name is derived from five Japanese words which are Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke.
How does 5S Work?
You have to start with 1st S and then follow subsequent Ss in the same order.
